Marketing Communications: Proposals are like books or magazines that clients review to see if they want to hire a firm to complete their project(s). For the past 10+ years, I have touched every aspect of proposal development and management, leading to hundreds of winning proposals for a variety of clients. From small or complex additions and renovations to large new construction projects, I have helped architecture, engineering, interior design and consulting firms convey to clients just how easy it would be to make their problems disappear. During the proposal process, I write, edit, and update content; manage resources, schedules, and production; and work with our marketing team to produce relevant, tailored proposals that address the clients’ needs.
Marketing Management: In addition to proposals, I’ve managed the development of presentations for interviews, marketing collateral, social media posts, conference graphics, and other marketing related activities such as conference logistics, sponsorships, and events. I’ve also assisted with interview prep, rehearsals, coaching and providing feedback. I’ve kept track of metrics and reporting data to inform future decisions regarding marketing efforts and provided weekly and monthly updates to leadership. While I have not managed budgets directly, I have kept track of budget information related to event expenses such as booth and attendee registrations, swag costs, hotel costs, travel expenses, etc. I also keep a close eye on my personal budget and finances.
People Management: I have managed marketing coordinators, administrative staff, receptionists, massage therapists and interns throughout my career. My approach to management is identifying each person’s strengths and helping them apply those strengths to achieve a common goal for the team. Leadership is all about empowering the team to be the best version of themselves.
Inspiring learners to pursue their passion through effective marketing…
Teaching/Speaking Engagements: I teach online marketing courses at a community college. My teaching philosophy is to let the student take the lead in their learning, while I take a facilitator role. I provide timely feedback and strategies to improve performance, whether it’s time management, retaining content or understanding concepts. I have also facilitated discussions, served on committees, and participated in speaking engagements for professional organizations to help educate students and emerging professionals about best practices and tools for marketing and professional development.
